Watermelon Liqueur

Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 lbs watermelon -> 1 qt pureed watermelon
  • 1 C water
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 qt vodka
  • 1 lemon juiced

Method
 

Make simple syrup
  1. Bring water to boil
  2. Add sugar
  3. Stir to dissolve
  4. Set aside to cool completely
Make Liqueur
  1. Combine syrup, puree, lemon juice in a large bottle or jar
  2. Cover and set aside for 5-7 days, stirring daily. After the 5th day, check for flavor
  3. When done, strain through a fine-mesh strainer and discard the solids
  4. Keeps for up to 1 year.

Notes

Serving suggestions:
Serve chilled over ice
Serve chilled with a splash of seltzer
Get creative with a martini shaker!
